The Elephants Trail project is about people with lived experience of severe multiple disadvantage and professionals working equally together to solve the challenges that people face. This is sometimes called ‘co-production’. The project involves building relationships, making decisions together, working together for practical change, and learning.

You will creatively engage and support people with lived experience of severe and multiple disadvantage to participate in the project in its four designated neighbourhoods. You will support small neighbourhood teams to maintain and develop people’s participation.

You will have strong ability to engage and support people from different backgrounds and cultures, and identify strengths and assets within communities. You will have excellent communication skills, and be able to work alone without direct supervision, as well as within a team.

You will have excellent knowledge of effective methods of participation and involvement, and a good understanding of issues for people with lived experience of severe and multiple disadvantage.

You will have experience of effective working within disadvantaged communities, and with community groups. You will have strong affinity with the purpose of the Elephants Trail project, and resilience to deal with challenging circumstances. You will able to travel easily around Greater Manchester, and be willing to work occasional unsocial hours.
