What they aim to achieve

Empower is a pilot project with the aim to support disabled people to make positive lifestyle changes through increased engagement in social, physical and exercise based activity.

What they do

Empower is a service to support disabled people to engage in more social, physical and exercise-based activity.

It’s not always easy for disabled people to remain socially and physical active or participate in exercise based activity.

There are many barriers that often limit or completely prevent participation.

Empower aims to break down these barriers by engaging disabled people within their desired activities and upskilling those around the individual to promote a network of long-term support.

In doing so Empower creates a community in which disabled people have the opportunities and support available to better manage their own health and wellbeing.
