Purpose
To improve the well-being of local people by encouraging and supporting healthy lifestyle choices, as well as supporting people to gain work.

Activity
Health Trainers supported adults to make changes they wanted in their lifestyle to improve their happiness and health, by offering practical guidance, support and motivation to achieve their goals. They did this through personal action planning and providing good connections into services and support available locally.
As the service developed, as well as Health Trainers in neighbourhoods, there were also Health Trainers who specialised in working with people with experience of the criminal justice system and with students.

Impact
By the end of the service, 92.8% of people achieved or part-achieved the goals in their well-being plans, and 94.5% of people achieved or part-achieved their employability goals.
Our learning from Health Trainers informed the design of Being Well Salford.
