“Unlimited Potential consistently supported me in further developing and honing my interpersonal skills whilst investing in my professional development.”
My background before joining Unlimited Potential
When I joined Unlimited Potential, I had been working in a self-employed retail role for a number of years alongside raising my children. I was an active member of the local community, being involved in multiple roles including as the run director for my local Parkrun, acting as parent governor for my children’s school and taking part in various community fund raising activities and awareness days.
My role at Unlimited Potential
When I started my employment with Unlimited Potential, I was encouraged to use my existing knowledge of the local area and people to my advantage to begin mapping out what their needs were in relation to offering support and enrichment. Unlimited Potential consistently supported me in further developing and honing my interpersonal skills whilst investing in my professional development by offering valuable insights from many years in the VCSE sector.
what most benefitted me from being with Unlimited Potential and what difference it made to me
During the Spreading Our Net project, I deeply enjoyed being able to connect with specific communities and individuals that I might not previously have had much link with. My personal sense of satisfaction at being able to offer assistance to those in need gave me an incredible feeling of well-being in my role. I decided that working in the community was where my future lay and, upon completion of the project, sought out similar roles.
what I have gone on to do/achieve since I left Unlimited Potential
I have successfully gone on to my current role, which is working as a Community Connector for Wellbeing Matters. Without the encouragement and the continued professional development I got in my time at Unlimited Potential, I would not have had the confidence to apply for my new role. I deeply enjoy being a key part of the local community and facilitating well-being, joy and recovery for those I work with.
