Hours :

Salary :
£25,801 - £28,785
Closing Date :
21st September 2020

This post is based in Barton and Winton, Salford and is a Fixed term of 12 months.

Spreading Our Net is a project to address social isolation. It aims to increase and strengthen sustainable local networks between community, voluntary, private and public assets, and improve access to fun, friendships and meaningful activities for local people who are socially isolated, especially those with limited contact with mainstream services.

You will discover and apply learning from networks and projects elsewhere, and ensure the project complements other local work around social isolation. You will identify those people of all ages who are socially isolated, and their trusted contacts. You will build and grow networks that support reducing their social isolation, and develop sustainable routes to connect socially isolated people to their community and local activities.

You have extremely good listening skills, and a very strong ability to engage people from diverse backgrounds and to connect them together. Able to see all the strengths in a neighbourhood (community, business, voluntary and statutory), you have the creative ability to make collaboration feel attractive, easy and fun.

Able to work as part of a team, as well as alone, you will have a strong understanding of what causes and prevents social isolation. Ideally, you will have some experience of engaging with local businesses, as well as community organisations, and knowledge of Salford and its communities.
